After a brief stint in Dali in late 2007, Adam dreamed up the idea of opening a rock climbing club. There is ample potential for new routes in the nearby cliffs, and the endless stream of outdoor enthusiasts that passes through Dali seemed to suggest that If you bolt it, then they will come.
It wasn't until 2008 that the dream of ClimbDali was finally born. It began with the opening of the ClimbDali training club and boulder bar, and within weeks, a dozen outdoor climbing routes were bolted in a stunning location overlooking ErHai Lake. We have since expanded our range of activities to include biking, hiking, rafting, and kayaking, and are proud to offer customized programs that include any or all of these pursuits.
We also aim to make our programs socially and environmentally responsible, by hiring local people to help whenever possible, and to minimize the (inevitable) impact that our programs have on the environment. For example, the vast majority of the items on our menu are local (some grown in our garden) and come in recyleable containers. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve in this regard, we'd love to hear from you.
Ultimately, the goal of ClimbDali is to turn Dali into a premier climbing rock climbing destination, and we can't do that without your help. We're passionate about rock climbing and the outdoors, but we're more passionate about building a community of like-minded people. Whether you're an experienced climber interested in honest information about the climbing scene in China, or a backpacker simply interested in finding decent accomodation in Dali, we're here to help.
Please have a look into what we offer. We are sure that you will find something that's just right for you!
